In the first part of this post I explained that while in attendance at the Microsoft Cloud OS Launch event in Dallas, my mind had been freshly blown by the Microsoft System Center demo during the Keynote, and my nerves tweaked as my “Lunch Talk” speaking slot drew closer. I also explain how I had some unfinished business with a person named Astrid. If you haven’t read 'Lunch in the Cloud - Part I, you might want to. Otherwise, the rest of the story might not make a lot of sense.

New operating systems don’t launch every day. Revolutionary operating systems launch maybe two or three times during a career. Given those odds, you can understand my excitement when I was told that not only would I be attending the Microsoft Cloud OS Launch Event in Dallas, but I’d also be presenting. We’ve been elbow deep in Windows Server 2012 for almost a year, but a chance to see first-hand what Microsoft would be showcasing, , and also seeing how it all would be received by the couple thousand IT-types was reason enough to go. Having a chance to present a deep-dive on Double-Take’s migration technology was like having ice cream topped with more ice cream.
